Jalebi is one of the most favored of current trending foods on earth. It is enjoyed by millions every day. It is easy, it’s fast, it tastes delicious. Jalebi is something that I’ve loved my whole life. They are fine and they look fantastic.

It is made by deep-frying maida flour (plain flour or all-purpose flour) batter in pretzel or circular shapes, which are then soaked in sugar syrup. This dessert can be served warm or cold. Jalebi is not just a dessert, but even part of morning breakfast and evening snacks in several parts of India.

To get started with this recipe, we must prepare a few ingredients. You can have jalebi using 3 ingredients and 11 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.

The ingredients needed to make Jalebi:
  1. Take 1 1/2 cup flour 1/2 cup Rice flour 3 tbsp curd
  2. Prepare 1/2 tsp cardamom powder 3 cup sugar 2-1/2 cup water
  3. Take 1/4 th tsp baking powder Pinch saffron 1 tsp rose water Ghee

Remove from the heat and add the cardamom and lemon juice - the lemon juice prevents the sugar crystallising. Jalebi is one of the most popular desserts from Indian subcontinent. Similar to Gulab jamun, jalebi too makes its appearance during weddings, celebrations & festivals. Jalebi can be made for any festivals like Diwali, Holi & Eid.

Steps to make Jalebi:
  1. Mix the flour, rice flour, baking powder,curd in a bowl.
  2. Mix well, add water whisk until smooth
  3. Set aside for about 2 hours to ferment.
  4. Whisk thoroughly before use.
  5. Prepare one string syrup by dissolving sugar in the water.add saffron and rose water.
  6. Just before the syrup is ready add cardamom powder.
  7. Heat oil or ghee in a heavy bottomed karahi
  8. Pour the batter in a steady stream into the karahi to form coils
  9. Deep fry them until they are golden and crispy all over but not brown.
  10. Remove the karahi and dip into the sugar syrup. leave for at least 4,5 minutes so that they soak the syrup.
  11. Take them out of syrup and serve hot.

Similar to Gulab jamun, jalebi too makes its appearance during weddings, celebrations & festivals. Jalebi can be made for any festivals like Diwali, Holi & Eid. How is jalebi made Traditionally it is made with a fermented batter of all purpose flour, gram flour (besan), baking soda and water. This fermented batter is then poured in concentric circles in hot oil and deep-fried. Then these fried spirals are soaked in sugar syrup for a few minutes and later served.
