Jalebi is one of the most favored of current trending foods on earth. It is appreciated by millions every day. It is simple, it is quick, it tastes delicious. They are nice and they look wonderful. Jalebi is something which I have loved my entire life.

Jalebi, also known as Jilapi, zulbia, mushabak and zalabia, is a Middle Eastern sweet snack popular all over South and Western Asia. It is made by deep-frying maida flour (plain flour or all-purpose flour) batter in pretzel or circular shapes, which are then soaked in sugar syrup. This dessert can be served warm or cold. When the sugar has dissolved, add the saffron and bring to the boil.

To begin with this particular recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can have jalebi using 3 ingredients and 11 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Jalebi:
  1. Make ready 1 1/2 cup flour 1/2 cup Rice flour 3 tbsp curd
  2. Prepare 1/2 tsp cardamom powder 3 cup sugar 2-1/2 cup water
  3. Prepare 1/4 th tsp baking powder Pinch saffron 1 tsp rose water Ghee

In Bhopal, it is relished with poha! Jalebi is a hot favorite on any special occasion be it a birthday, wedding or festival. Jalebis, though mostly eaten by themselves, can also be soaked in warm milk. Instructions to make Jalebi:
  1. Mix the flour, rice flour, baking powder,curd in a bowl.
  2. Mix well, add water whisk until smooth
  3. Set aside for about 2 hours to ferment.
  4. Whisk thoroughly before use.
  5. Prepare one string syrup by dissolving sugar in the water.add saffron and rose water.
  6. Just before the syrup is ready add cardamom powder.
  7. Heat oil or ghee in a heavy bottomed karahi
  8. Pour the batter in a steady stream into the karahi to form coils
  9. Deep fry them until they are golden and crispy all over but not brown.
  10. Remove the karahi and dip into the sugar syrup. leave for at least 4,5 minutes so that they soak the syrup.
  11. Take them out of syrup and serve hot.

Jalebis, though mostly eaten by themselves, can also be soaked in warm milk. Jalebi is the Indian sweet that is spiral round in looking dunk in the sugar syrup. Every person has different opinions about the serving of the Jalebi. Some places in India serve Jalebi with Poha, Fafda (Gujrati snack) in breakfast, some serve Jalebi with Rabri and that combination is my favorite.
