It is made by deep-frying maida flour (plain flour or all-purpose flour) batter in pretzel or circular shapes, which are then soaked in sugar syrup. This dessert can be served warm or cold. The ingredients needed to make Jalebi:
  1. Get 1 cup maida
  2. Get 1 cup sugar
  3. Make ready 1/2 tsp baking powder
  4. Get 1/4 cup curd
  5. Get few strands saffron
  6. Prepare as required Desi ghee for frying
  7. Take 4-5 chopped almonds

Remove from the heat and add the cardamom and lemon juice - the lemon juice prevents the sugar crystallising. Jalebi is one of the most popular desserts from Indian subcontinent. Instructions to make Jalebi:
  1. Make a batter by adding maida, baking powder, curd add water to make thick better.beat for 3-4 minutes.keep better rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, make sugar syrup by adding 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water in a pan. Boil for 2 minutes add saffron and make 1/2 string consistency syrup.
  3. Heat ghee in a kadhai and beat the better again for 2 more minutes. fill it in the piping bag and make a small hole.
  4. Fry jalebi by making small spirals in hot ghee till golden in colour from both sides.
  5. Dip these jalebi in sugar syrup for 30 seconds only and immediately remove from syrup on plate.
  6. Sprinkle chopped almonds and serve it.
