Jalebi is one of the most popular of recent trending foods in the world. It is enjoyed by millions daily. It is simple, it is fast, it tastes yummy. Jalebi is something that I’ve loved my whole life. They are fine and they look wonderful.
To get started with this particular recipe, we must first prepare a few components. You can cook jalebi using 6 ingredients and 9 steps. Here is how you can achieve it.
The ingredients needed to make Jalebi:
- Prepare 1 cup Refined flour
- Prepare 1/4 cup soaked Urad lentil
- Take 2 cups Sugar
- Take 1 1/2 cup water for syrup
- Take Pinch red colour
- Make ready Pinch baking soda
This dessert can be served warm or cold. Jalebi is one of the most popular desserts from Indian subcontinent. Similar to Gulab jamun, jalebi too makes its appearance during weddings, celebrations & festivals. Jalebi can be made for any festivals like Diwali, Holi & Eid.
Instructions to make Jalebi:
- Rinse urad lentil with water 2-3 times. Drain out excess water and soak it for 2 hours and grind it into a fine paste. Keep it aside.
- Sieve refined flour in a bowl. Add baking powder and red food colour into the sieved refined flour. Mix everything really well. Now add water in small portions and whisk until the lumps dissolves completely. Add ground urad lentil to the batter.
- Stir to mix the lentil paste well into the batter. Prepare a batter with pouring consistency. It should not be too thick or too thin. Keep aside.
- Now take sugar in a pan and add keep stirring on low flame, so that the sugar dissolves. cook till you get one string consistency in the sugar syrup. once one string consistency is attained, switch off the flame.
- Heat enough ghee or oil in a pan or a wok to deep fry jalebis. Let the oil for hot. Place the cone over a glass and fill it with batter. Cut down the cone at the pointed end to make a small hole. Make a thin cut for making thin and crisp jalebi.
- Squeeze the cone and make round spirals with the batter. - when one side is partly cooked, turn over and fry the other side.
- Transfer the fried jalebis into the sugar syrup for 1 minute.
- Remove them to a serving plate.
- Ready for Serve crispy, crunchy and juicy instant jalebis.
