The ingredients needed to make Jalebi:
- Get 1 cup All-purpose flour
- Make ready 2-3 tbsp Cornflour
- Get 1 tbsp Curd
- Prepare 1 cup Sugar
- Make ready As required Water
- Get 1/2 tbsp Baking soda
- Take 1 pinch Food colour
- Take 1 pinch Saffron
- Get 1/2 tbsp Cardamom powder
- Make ready 2-3 cups Oil

This dessert can be served warm or cold. Jalebi is one of the most popular desserts from Indian subcontinent. Similar to Gulab jamun, jalebi too makes its appearance during weddings, celebrations & festivals. Jalebi can be made for any festivals like Diwali, Holi & Eid.
Instructions to make Jalebi:
- Firstly to prepare the batter of Jalebi take a large size bowl.
- Add maida, baking soda, cornflour and curd to it.
- Mix it well altogether.
- Add few drops of water in it to make a thick batter.
- Make sure there are no lumps in it.
- The batter shoud be neither much thick nor much thin.
- Add drops of water as per the requirement.
- Beat the batter in only one direction for about 4-5 minutes.
- Let it ferment for 10-12hrs.
- Secondly for preparing the sugar syrup take a pan and add sugar to it.
- Add 1cup of water so that the sugar gets diluted in it and boil it so it forms one string consistency.
- Add cardamom powder and kesar into the water so that the colour turns slight orange.
- Now the syrup is ready and the batter is fermented so next step is to prepare the jalebis.
- Take a kadai and heat oil in it.
- Once it gets heated pour the Jalebi batter in it in a circular form.
- Deep fry it both the sides.
- Take it out the jalebis from the oil after 1 minute and dip it into the sugar syrup for just 1-2 minutes so that it absorbs the sugar to it.
- Serve it hot and crispy.
Similar to Gulab jamun, jalebi too makes its appearance during weddings, celebrations & festivals. Jalebi can be made for any festivals like Diwali, Holi & Eid. Jalebi is a hot favorite on any special occasion be it a birthday, wedding or festival. Jalebis, though mostly eaten by themselves, can also be soaked in warm milk.
