  2. Boil dal and drain
  3. Heat up pan, add oil and saute onion
  4. Add gr chilli and dal and mix
  5. When dal mixture cools down add chaat masala and mash with palm
  6. Form cylinders of dal mixture
  7. Prepare suji batter like idli batter and grease small steel glasses from inside
  8. Put water in patili to boil
  9. Take 1 glass put dal cylinder in centre and fill batter around it. Glass should be half empty as these rolls need space to expand
  10. Put glasses in boiling water, cover the lid and let them steam for 10-12 mins
  11. When cool take out the rolls, cut them in slices
  12. Prepare the tempering with oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves, lemon and turmeric powder and coat the slices from outside with this tempering
  13. Tasty suji dal slices are ready to enjoy
