  1. Soak dal and Rice in different bowls overnight. Then drain the water then grind in mixer grinder and keep it aside for 6 hours for fermentation. Now heat the steamer on the gas add water, salt chilli and ginger paste and stir it. Then add baking, curd on the soda, then add oil on the top of heated water.
  2. Then add oil and quickly stir it until it becomes fluffy. Then pour into greased plate and sprinkle red chilli powder and transfer it to a steamer for 5 to 7 mins and check it till it becomes smooth and fluffy like a sponge. Let it cool down and then cut into pieces and serve it with oil.

Khatta Dhokla can be eaten for breakfast or as a snack. Khatta Dhokla is made with a fermented batter derived from rice, Urad dal and chana dal. Khaman Dhokla is made out of chana dal/Gram flour and Khatta Dhokla from urad dal/ split skinless black lentils and rice/rice flour. This Dhokla called as "Khatta Dhokla" because of its sour taste.
