- Get 250 grms all purpose flour
- Take 1/8 teaspoon organic food colour
- Prepare 4-5 cardamom
- Prepare 1/4 tsp baking powder
- Get For Sugar syrup
- Prepare 500 Grams sugar
- Make ready 1/2 lemon juice
- Take 4-5 cardamoms
- Prepare 3-4 saffron
- Prepare 1/2 tbsp kewara water
Jalebi is one of the most popular desserts from Indian subcontinent. Similar to Gulab jamun, jalebi too makes its appearance during weddings, celebrations & festivals. Jalebi can be made for any festivals like Diwali, Holi & Eid. How is jalebi made Traditionally it is made with a fermented batter of all purpose flour, gram flour (besan), baking soda and water.
Steps to make Jalebi:
- Add sugar and water to a pan. Boil on medium heat till it reaches a stage of 1 string consistency.
- Pour lemon juice, Cardamom powder and kesar and stir. Keep it aside.
- Take flour, baking powder and food colour. Mix it well and prepare a batter of flowing consistency. It should not be too thick or thin.
- Heat oil in a flat pan to fry the Jalebi. Set the flame to medium to high.
- Squeeze in the batter with a help of squeezing bottle or zip lock bag or cloth bag gently in circular motion starting from the center to outside.
- While the Jalebi is frying, check the syrup, it must be slightly hot to warm when you add jalebi into it.
- When jalebi starts looking crispier, take it out with the help of skewer and dip it into sugar syrup.
- Allow Jalebi to rest in the syrup for 1-2 minutes and remove it to a plate.
- Serve it hot. Your taste, hygiene jalebi is ready to eat.
