Chanar Jilapi is a popular Bengali Delicacy and is the Chana-fied version of Jalebi or Jilapi. Chana (or Chena) or Cottage Cheese is the core ingredient for making sweets in Bengal (both West Bengal and Bangladesh) and this Jilapi/ Jalebi prepared with Chana is amazing to taste. The best Chanar Jilipi is the one which looks reddish brown from outside and is juicy from inside. Chanar Jilipi is a very popular Bengali sweet.
Chena Jalebi /Chanar Jilipi is one of the most well liked of recent trending foods in the world. It’s easy, it’s quick, it tastes yummy. It is appreciated by millions every day. They’re fine and they look fantastic. Chena Jalebi /Chanar Jilipi is something which I’ve loved my entire life.
To get started with this particular recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can have chena jalebi /chanar jilipi using 8 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you cook that.
The ingredients needed to make Chena Jalebi /Chanar Jilipi:
- Make ready 1/2 litre milk
- Prepare 3 tsp maida
- Prepare 1 tsp suji
- Prepare 1/2 tsp ghee
- Prepare 1 tsp powdered sugar
- Prepare 1/2 tsp baking soda
- Get 1 lime
- Prepare 1 1/2 cups sugar for syrup
Put the chena in a muslin cloth & hang it for about half an hour, until all the water gets drained off. Now remove the chena from the cloth. Chanar Jilipi or Chenna Jhilapi or you can also call it as Paneer Jalebi is a sweet made out of fresh cottage cheese i.e Chenna. Though this sweet mainly belongs to Bengal,it is also available in eastern part of Odisha.
Instructions to make Chena Jalebi /Chanar Jilipi:
- Boil the milk and make chena out of it. Now wash the chena with plain water, remove all the extra water out of it. Put the chena in a muslin cloth & hang it for about half an hour, until all the water gets drained off. Now remove the chena from the cloth.
- For sugar syrup : Take 1 and half cup of sugar and 2 cups of water and boil it till the syrup thickens up. No need to form any string and all, u jst need the syrup to be thicken up.
- Now place it on the flat plate or u can also knead it on your kitchen slab as I did. Add powdered sugar, suji, maida, baking soda and knead it gently. Now add little ghee and again Knead it for abt 10 to 15 mins. till the chena becomes soft and smooth. Now make small puri-size balls out of it.
- Now roll them as shown in pic 1. Now swirl it form a jalebi like shape, as shown in pic 2.
- Now heat oil in a pan and fry them till golden brown. Now directly put the jalebis inside the sugar syrup, keep it for abt 2 mins and then remove them and serve hot.
Chanar Jilipi or Chenna Jhilapi or you can also call it as Paneer Jalebi is a sweet made out of fresh cottage cheese i.e Chenna.
