It is made by deep-frying maida flour (plain flour or all-purpose flour) batter in pretzel or circular shapes, which are then soaked in sugar syrup. This dessert can be served warm or cold. Jalebi is not just a dessert, but even part of morning breakfast and evening snacks in several parts of India.

The ingredients needed to make Jalebi:
- Prepare 500 grams Sugar
- Make ready 200 ml water
- Take 150 grms maida
- Make ready Pinch Orange food colour
- Get 2 tbsp milk
- Prepare 1/2 tsp baking powder
- Take 1 lemon
- Prepare 1 tbsp Ghee
- Get Oil for frying
Remove from the heat and add the cardamom and lemon juice - the lemon juice prevents the sugar crystallising. Jalebi is one of the most popular desserts from Indian subcontinent. Similar to Gulab jamun, jalebi too makes its appearance during weddings, celebrations & festivals. Jalebi can be made for any festivals like Diwali, Holi & Eid.
Steps to make Jalebi:
- In a large pot put sugar and water and cook till sugar dissolved completely then put slice of lemon and add milk.after u add milk all the dirt of syrup is come on the surface remove that.
- Add orange food colour and cook for 3 to 4 mins.turn off the flame.
- Now in a bowl put maida add baking powder+pinch of baking soda + pinch of salt and water make a thick batter.whisk very nicley make sure there is no lumps in your batter.keep aside for 30mins.
- Put batter in piping bag or in sos pouring bottle.
- Heat ghee for frying.and pipe the spirals and fry till crispy.remove and directly put in sugar syrup rest for 10mins remove and serve hot.

How is jalebi made Traditionally it is made with a fermented batter of all purpose flour, gram flour (besan), baking soda and water. This fermented batter is then poured in concentric circles in hot oil and deep-fried. Then these fried spirals are soaked in sugar syrup for a few minutes and later served.
