Start by chopping the tofu into bite size pieces. To a plate add the cornflour, cumin, paprika, salt and pepper. Mix with a fork and dip the pieces of tofu to coat each side. Once the tofu pieces are coated shallow fry them on a medium to high heat so they go crispy on the outside and a golden brown colour.

The ingredients needed to make Fried Tofu Salad:
  1. Prepare 200 g Firm Tofu
  2. Take Salt
  3. Get Oil for cooking
  4. Get 3-4 cupfuls Vegetables of your choice
  5. Get Note: Today I used Daikon, Carrot, Celery, Cucumber and Curly Endive
  6. Get 1 tablespoon Toasted Sesame Seeds
  7. Get 1/2 sheet Toasted Nori *torn into small pieces
  8. Make ready *Note: Instead of Nori, Fried Shallots is another nice topping
  9. Prepare Dressing
  10. Prepare 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
  11. Make ready 1 tablespoon Rice Vinegar
  12. Get 1 teaspoon Sugar
  13. Get 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
  14. Prepare 1/2 teaspoon grated Garlic

Toss the tofu with the cornstarch mixture to generously bread; reserve the remaining marinade. Cut the tofu into small cubes and add them to the pan. Slice the cucumber into a colander and sprinkle lightly with salt. Add chopped romaine lettuce to a salad bowl followed by sliced cherry tomatoes and sliced cucumber.

Instructions to make Fried Tofu Salad:
  1. Cut Firm Tofu to 1cm thin slices. Lightly season with Salt.
  2. Heat a generous amount Oil in a frying pan over medium low heat, cook Tofu slices until golden and crispy. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towel and allow to cool.
  3. Cut all Vegetables into thin strips or slices, and place in a mixing bowl. Cut the fried Tofu slices into thin strips and add to the bowl. Add Sesame Seeds as well.
  4. Combine all the dressing ingredients in a small bowl. *Note: You may wish to add some Chilli.
  5. Pour the dressing over the salad, mix to combine, transfer to a serving plate. Add Toasted Nori on top and serve immediately.

Slice the cucumber into a colander and sprinkle lightly with salt. Add chopped romaine lettuce to a salad bowl followed by sliced cherry tomatoes and sliced cucumber. Add chopped red bell pepper, grated carrot, chopped spring onion, pickled ginger, chopped basil and sesame seeds. Then add in the cooked tofu and sliced avocado. Prepare your dressing and pour over the top and toss together.
