- Take 3 tsp oil
- Prepare 1/2 tsp mustard seed
- Prepare 1/2 tsp jeera seed
- Take 1/2 tsp sesame (optional)
- Make ready 1 pinch hing
- Get as needed Few pieces of curry leaves
- Prepare 2 chopped chillies
- Prepare 1/4 cup water
- Get 1 tsp sugar
- Prepare 1/4 tsp salt
- Take 1 tsp lemon juice
- Make ready As per requirement Few Chopped Coriander leaves
- Make ready as required Grated coconut (optional)
Add water and make it into a smooth batter with medium-thick consistency. In a glass, make add the fruit salt or baking powder. Add water to it and pour this into the dhokla mixture. For breakfast or a quick snack, this instant dhokla is y.
Steps to make STEAMED Homemade Dhoklas:
- Sieve besan in a bowl and add suji, ginger paste, chopped chillies, turmeric, sugar, hing, salt, lemon juice, oil, water to it. Mixed & Whisk in one direction to form a batter. Add 2 tbsp water if required. Rest the batter for 20 minute
- After 20 mins add pinch or 1/2 tsp of baking soda to batter and mixed gently the batter for 2 mins. Meanwhile boil a water in steamer pot. Then pour dhokla batter in greased container and place this container in steamer. Steam for 20 minutes. Check with toothpick the consistency of batter. If ready then cut pieces.
- Now for tempering heat 3 tsp oil in small pot and add mustard seed, jeera and a pinch of hing. When seeds began to crackle add curry leaves, chopped chillies and sautē & splitter them for few second. Then add 1/4 cup water, sugar, salt, lemon juice, few chopped Coriander leaves and bring it to boil by cooking for a minute over high flame. Tempering is ready. Pour tempering over dhoklas and toss gently until each dhoklas is coated well.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and grated coconut (optional) and serve.
