Instructions to make Steamed Rice idli:
- Soak dal and rice for 4-5 hrs.
- Grind to smooth paste. Now add soda and salt. Rest it for another 5-6 hrs or till it ferment.
- Take idli stand and grease it. Take some amt. Of batter in bowl now add eno and mix it gently. Pour the batter in idli stand.
- Keep it in idli maker or in the cooker by adding little amt.of water in the base. Cook for 8-10 mins. Check them. If it is done then keep the idli stand to cool down. Then with knife demould idli from the stand. Ready to serve.
I have used the Idly (boiled rice) rawa in my recipe for making Idlies. Idli is a soft & fluffy steamed cake made of fermented rice & lentil batter. These are one of the healthiest protein packed Breakfasts from South Indian cuisine.
