To prepare Traditional Steamed Modak Recipe (Ukadiche Modak With Rice flour), begin with making the stuffing for modak. Combine coconut, ghee and jaggery in a Non-stick pan. Make sure that you do not overcook the mixture.
Steps to make Steamed modak:
- 1 glass of water,1glass rice flour and mix it really well
- Once it mix really well..make a dough of it.
- Now crush jaggery and mix it with coconut crush and cook it for the time until the jaggery melts really well.
- Once this mixture is ready let it cool down for some time.
- Now make small puri of the dough and stuff the mixture in it and let it steam.
- Once it is steamed well let it cool down and then you can serve it
Combine coconut, ghee and jaggery in a Non-stick pan. Make sure that you do not overcook the mixture. Maharashtrians call it "ukdiche Modak", tamilians say "kozhukkattai", we malaysalis simply say " kozhukkattai" and so on. Some people prefer to fry it rather than steam it. But I love the steamed one more because it's healthier and it's much softer and melt in the mouth.
